Ed Tech Field Experience Mrs.Faircloth - Day 1-2

I have been observing in the Southside Middle School. The class I have been observing was Mrs. Faircloth, she teaches 4th grade science.

One thing throughout the class I really liked was, the way she made everything interactive and fun. Mrs. Faircloth is very good at making sure her students stay engaged. By this she does fun activities and labs and such that the students have to be constantly moving and thinking. Keeping the brains moving and thinking causes less problems and more productivity.

Another quality throughout the class I really took into thought was, her ways of showing her knowledge of each student. She was very good with taking care of each student, and understanding each student and their issues. She handled each situation well and kept whatever happened from stopping her lesson, causing her other students to quit learning. In my eyes this is a plus and an advantage in the teaching style for the classroom.

My all time favorite method of teaching that I saw used was, walking around the classroom while helping those who needed it. She demonstrated this very well, there was not a time when I was in the classroom, that Mrs.Faircloth was sitting down for more than 5 minutes. She always was checking to make sure her students were not only doing their work, but understanding what they were doing as well. Her students seem to enjoy this and be appreciative of her help, she stands the whole time she is teaching as well.

Another really good method of teaching that was demonstrated was doing interactive lessons. She knew how to keep her students entertained and have fun while working. Her students were 4th graders, so their brains like to wonder, so keeping the brain stimulated at that age is very important.

2.1 : Fall Observation (JR High)

I went to observe down at the Jr high for a day, in that day I observed Mrs.Vines. She teaches a science class, she also has a pre-ap class to for science. That class is just an advanced and faster paced science. She demonstrates teaching very well and shows how to keep and maintain a calm environment in her classroom.

One positive outcome from observing Mrs.Vines would be, walking around the classroom at all times. I say this is a positive outcome due to the fact, when doing this students are more prone to ask questions if they are not understanding something. In this case they can get the help instead of guessing, and then never knowing how to actually do the work.

Another positive outcome from observing with her walking around the classroom would be, no phones come out. With her constantly walking around students tend to keep their cellphones put away and in their bag. This leads to less cheating and less texting/social media while trying and needing to get work done.

2.1 : Fall Observation

So far this year we have observed 4 classes, which has been a fun yet tiring experience. I love going and meeting the children and different teachers, but the timing is horrible and it takes a lot of time out of my day. Completing this 5 weeks will be a good start to my teaching career, especially with all the hours on my transcript.

One positive takeaway from Mrs.Roa was her ability to walk around and keep her students busy. She demonstrated very well on how to make sure her students are understanding all those things that she was teaching. Mrs.Roa teaches Spanish, so her teaching style has to be a little different teaching a language. This was definitely one of my least favorite observations, but I love Mrs.Roa and her teaching style.

One positive takeaway from Mr.Luetschwager was his ability to work with the kids, and to have a good attitude. His teaching style was very well and calming. I love how he never raised his tone, and the students respected him pretty well. He teaches a couple different classes, the class I observed was Computer Science Engineering. I would never take this class, furthermore I enjoyed observing Mr.L!

3.2 1 (Cricut)

For my cricut project I decided to choose teacher calendars. I think this is a great idea, for the reason such as I would love it if I was a teacher. If i received this as a gift or anything I would love it. When I become a teacher, I want my classroom to be colorful and full of light and bright. I want my students to like walking into my room. So if I had a cricut machine to make cutest calendars, I could let my students choose the theme of the next months calendar. It could be something fun, that all the students look forward to being able to choose. To make the teacher calendars all you would need would be, a cricut, vinyl, a cricut knifeblade, and a cricut chipboard. Other things you would need such as, the calendar design you wanted to choose for the cricut to use, a frame for the calendar to go onto, masking tape, and strong grip mats.

Blog 3.1 Famous Person

My favorite famous person:  This is my favorite person due to many reasons, and here are a couple of them.

My famous person : Yadier Molina

Three attributes I admire

  1. Attribute 1:  Create happier lives and futures for underprivileged children

    1.  Reason 1: Good community service man

    2.  Reason 2: Cares for those even tho he has all he needs.

  2. Attribute 2:  Plays my favorite sport to watch

    1.  Reason 1: Watched my whole life

    2.  Reason 2: Me and my papaws ¨thing¨

  3. Attribute 3:  Good soul and kind hearted

    1.  Reason 1: Everyone needs to be this way

    2.  Reason 2: Helps all in need

MLB retired player Yadier Molina creates happier lives and futures for those less fortunate than others. Very kind and a good community service man. Funding non profit organizations such as the Yadier Molina Fundacion 4, whose main mission is to help underprivileged children across seas, in his hometown Puerto Rico. Molina has always had a kind heart even on the baseball field, always being a good teammate and kind to his peers.  He's a loving and caring human, always doing the right thing, wanting the best for others.  Raising over $180,000 for funds, this all went to those children in need all across the country. Him and his wife strive in making children and all of those in need happy.

Yadier Molina is one of my favorite famous people, one of the top reasons being, he plays MLB which is my favorite sport to watch on the TV, or in the arena. I’ve grown up my whole life watching Cardinals baseball so it's kinda all I know. Baseball is what was always on the TV at my grandparents house so that's what you watched when you went there. My family is full of baseball players on the men's side so they all like to watch it year round. Watching the Cardinals baseball with my Papaw has been my thing for like basically my whole life. Me and my papaw never miss a game when on TV, we love to sit and watch the game together. Ever since I was a baby, in his lap I sat watching the game with my Papaw.

Molina is one of the most heartful players I’ve watched over the years, he’s very kind hearted and has a good soul. In my opinion everyone needs to be this way, he’s got the best way of showing it. Molina is down to the core a good guy, and has a good attitude about everything he does. Molina rarely got into with an umpire on the field or another opponent on the field. He always has a helping hand. When one was down he always helped them back up, even if it wasn't his teammate. He loves doing things for people and accomplishing goals.
